• Collection data (manga volumes, series, reading status, notes)

• Device information (device model, operating system version)
• App usage analytics (features used, session duration)

• Contacts or address book
• Photos or media (camera is used solely for barcode scanning and images are not stored)
• Financial information (payments are handled entirely by Apple)

We use your information to:

• Provide and maintain the App and its features
• Sync your collection data across devices
• Send release notifications and reminders you have opted into
• Improve the App through anonymized usage analytics
• Respond to support requests
• Detect and prevent abuse

Your data is stored securely using Supabase (hosted on AWS). We use industry-standard encryption for data in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access to production data is restricted and audited.

While we take reasonable measures to protect your information, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure.

We do not sell your personal data. We may share information with:

• Service providers — third-party services that help us operate the App (hosting, analytics, crash reporting), bound by confidentiality agreements
• Legal requirements — when required by law, court order, or to protect our rights and safety

The App integrates with the following third-party services:

• Supabase — database and authentication
• RevenueCat — subscription management
• Expo — push notifications and updates

Each service has its own privacy policy governing how they handle data.

You have the right to:

• Access your data — view all information stored in your account
• Export your data — download your collection data
• Delete your data — request complete deletion of your account and all associated data
• Opt out of non-essential notifications at any time through the App settings

Shelv is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete it promptly.

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of material changes through the App or via email. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
